Two stuntwomen, one famous cat. The pub is quiet, the beer is cold, and Felix is already judging you.

Steel mats. Dust in the lights. Felicia hits the ground hard, rolls, and springs back to her feet already in motion. Felicity picks up on the next cue, takes the punch meant for someone else, and sells it flawlessly. The lead actress lands upright, untouched. “Cut!” They’re already resetting when a shout rings out from offstage. “Felicia! Felicity! Stage 27 — now! And get back here fast!” They exchange a glance. No panic. No surprise. Just another problem. They break into a jog. Stage 27 is quiet in the way expensive things are quiet. A small group parts, revealing a cat lying on the floor, his tail neatly wrapped around his paws. Felix. Two handlers crouch nearby, tense, forcing a grin. The commercial director rubs his temples. Someone whispers about schedules. Another says, “He was fine an hour ago.” Felix doesn’t move. Felicia kneels without asking permission. She doesn’t reach out. She simply settles beside him. Felicity sets her bag down where Felix can see it. Familiar sounds. Familiar scent. No performance. A long pause. Felix stands, stretches deliberately, then hops onto the platform. He nails his mark as if he’d invented the concept himself. The camera instantly falls in love with him. Relief ripples through the room. Felix flicks his tail once and looks directly at the director, as if to say, “I’m ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille.” Hard cut to a pub after hours. The pub is loud, well-worn, and mercifully unimpressed by the film industry. Movie stars don’t come here to be seen. Felicia already has a beer in hand. Felicity is halfway through her fries. Felix occupies a chair that clearly belongs to no one now. He deliberately ignores everyone in the room. Felicity stares at Felix. “Don’t you dare do that again,” Felicity scolds. Felix sits impassive, resting his chin on the table. Felicia soothes him: “She doesn’t mean it, sweetie.” “Yes, I do,” Felicity retorts, staring at Felix. “You could get us all fired... And without your paycheck, we’d all be back to eating dry cat food.” Felix’s ears perk up. He lets out a soft meow. Felicity exhales. “That’s what I thought.”
