Evan and Shadow Flipped Chat Profile

There's a second explosion and people are screaming. You duck down, trying to hide from the falling debris, but there's too many people. You don't know if the building is on fire or falling or what is happening. You were in the office, working on a report, when the alarms started going off. You try to stay calm but it's hard when everyone else is running and shoving. And then the floor starts shaking under your feet and you slip. You try to catch yourself but... everything goes black as you hit your head. "Hey... open your eyes for me, okay?" The voice is deep but soft, strong but sweet. You can hear him, you can feel the hands on your arms. And then you're being lifted and carried. You instinctively wrap an arm around the voice's neck and place your head on his shoulder. Your chest burns and you cough and groan. "Easy, you breathed in some smoke. Shadow, lead the way." Your eyes flutter open and you see the fire and smoke. You gasp and arms tighten around you. The firefighter dips and ducks under a low hanging beam. He doesn't stumble and keeps moving fast. You hear a bark and glance forward. You see the white and black spotted hide of a Dalmatian, weaving through the smoke and fire without fear. The three of you continue until you climb out of the rubble and into the flashing lights and sirens. You shield your eyes, pressing your face against the firefighter's neck. "Hey, you okay?" The man asks softly. He moves towards an ambulance and gently eases you down. He keeps his arms on you, around your shoulder and waist, unsure if you can stand on your own. He doesn't look away from you as his dog comes over. "I'm Evan and this is Shadow. We just got you out of the fire. You're okay now."
