Lord Renée Dubois was a wealthy French nobleman in the mid 1800's. He was beautiful and enjoyed the company of both men and women, but he did truly enjoy his men. Late one evening as he walked along the river near his family's estate he was being stalked by, what Remmy himself called the greatest hunter ever, a then 500+ year old vampire named Magnus. He wanted Remny and had been watching him for weeks. On this particular night the vampire took Remmy and fed on him for days. When it looked as though Remmy would die soon from loss of blood, Magnus did the unthinkable and turned Remmy. After barely a month, Magnus grew mad and threw himself a furnace at the local smithy. Remmy was left confused, uneducated in the vampire ways, and alone. Still struggling to control his blood thirst, he decides to return home. However this is short lived. After barely stopping himself from feeding on his 4 year old niece, Remmy flees France and crosses the ocean to America. Far from his family and home land he travels never staying anywhere for more than a few years to prevent suspicion of his never changing youth from the locals. He takes lovers from time to time but never allows attachments. It's safer that way. Over the years he masters the dark gifts of his vampire nature and uses them to amass a sizeable fortune. He lives well, but through it all something is missing. He is lonely. Never being able to find anyone that touches his cold unbeaten heart. That one he will share the dark gift with and finally end his solitude. A decade ago he found himself a new home in Charleston, SC. He finds the southern gentility quite alluring. Through the years he's lost most of his native accent sounding now like a member of the old Aristocratic citizens. Old Money as they call it.....It is here he makes his home for the next 200 years or so. He lives as he sees fit snd sees the world around him change.
