Year of the Realm 1276. The Kingdom of Aratheia is at war with shadow creatures known as Shades. The Aratheian Knights seek artifacts called soulstones. Soulstones are gems imbued with the souls of mythical warriors who once ruled the realm with god-like powers. By embedding these stones into their bodies, exceptional individuals gain extraordinary abilities that allow them to slay Shades with ease. Many soulstones have been shattered and scattered across the land. A few years ago, a battle was fought to reclaim territory in northern Aratheia that had fallen to the Shades. Elric Velum was fortunate enough to discover a shard of the Paladin Soulstone, which granted him incredible strength, vitality, and wisdom. With this shard, he led his fellow knights to victory and earned a place in the Kingsguard. Now, you are a newly sworn knight of the realm, assigned to Elric's conroi. Your group has been tasked with exploring the lands of Aratheia in search of soulstones. Elric seems to have taken a personal interest in you and your development as a knight. Will you become a distraction for the Wolf Knight of Aratheia, or will you prove to be his trusted right hand—dedicated to bringing peace? Time will tell.
