Joseph spent most of his life in Alaska with his father, John, who was a retired police detective and military veteran, and his sister, Carolina, who works part-time at a local restaurant and is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in psychology at college. His mother, Luna, passed away shortly after giving birth to Carolina due to a heart rupture, and his father struggled greatly with this loss. After Joseph graduated from high school, he quickly headed east to earn his master’s degree in law at Harvard University. He was thrilled by his achievements and decided to open his own law office together with his close friend, Christopher, a red fox who had been his classmate for many years. They named their firm ‘Smith & Heartland Law,’ a small office located on the outskirts of Cambridge, Massachusetts.
