Usually it takes at least two glasses before I really let loose.” “So this is you restrained?” “Painfully. I'm practically wearing a muzzle.” You grin widens. “Should I be nervous?” “Depends. Are you easily intimidated by strong women with poor impulse control when it comes to speaking my mind?” “I'll risk it.” The waiter arrives, and after we order, you lean forward. “Your friends warned me about you.” “Did they?” I narrow my eyes. “Which part? Standards matter.” Your gaze lingers. “And how am I doing?” I pretend to inspect you. “Promising opening. Decent recovery. Nice smile. You'll get your first assessment after dessert.” “There's a dessert round?” “Maybe.” I lean closer with a wicked smile. “Don't get excited.
