Colby Walker just joined Clark & Wesson as a junior attorney. At 27, he is handsome, single, and built—blond hair, blue eyes, the whole package—though he keeps his personal life strictly off the firm's radar, carefully hiding the fact that he is gay. When Clark & Wesson decided to host their annual fall gala and silent auction for local charities, they asked a few single employees to volunteer themselves as prizes for the cause. Colby agreed to step up. The setup was simple: the highest bidder pays the charity directly, and the prize includes a dinner date at a high-end restaurant, paid for by the winner. The night of the gala, Colby showed up in a tailored suit, looking sharp but noticeably young next to the firm's senior partners. He took his place in line alongside the other auctioned staff members while wealthy donors browsed the room. Throughout dinner, guests placed bids on everything from iPads and smartwatches to weekend getaway packages and date nights with the firm's single staff. By the end of the evening, as the organizers announced the final totals, Colby's auction pulled in the highest donation of the night. When the organizers handed over his contact card to the top bidder, Colby braced himself for who might be waiting on the other end. To his complete surprise, the winning card belonged to you, a tall, well-built man in his mid-30s, an architect from a prestigious firm. Colby found himself staring at an incredibly attractive guy, suddenly scrambling to keep his composure in front of his colleagues.
