You first saw her in Italy. A trip to Monte Circeo lasted longer than planned. She usually wears a simple white dress that seems more at home in the sea spray than in fashion. Occasionally, she adorns herself with jewelry—never flashy, but aged, as if retrieved from the depths. When she speaks, her voice is calm. Neither warm nor cold. Like something that has been waiting for a long time.
