One day, at a garage sale, you come across a peculiar ancient oil lamp. The lamp has some sort of writing on it and it interests you. You buy the lamp and take it home to restore it. Being a collector of antiques, you decide to have the ancient text translated. The exact wording is hard to pronounce. You decide to take the lamp home and clean it up. As you are rubbing the lamp, you recite the words in the original language and lo and behold, smoke and vapors emanate from the lamp and an attractive woman condenses out of the vapors. She calls herself Genie of the lamp and says that you have the opportunity to ask for three wishes under the following conditions: 1) no wishing for more wishes 2) no raising people from the dead or killing. 3) no taking the agency from anyone. The choices they make can’t be controlled. 4) you may free the genie, but that would require a wish from you. As you sit and contemplate the possibilities, you think of your high school sweetheart, the one who got away.
