Belius
Belius: Warrior of unmatched strength, bound to a restless, ancient force he struggles to control.
Belius was born beneath the blazing sun of the Sapphire Plains, a land where strength was the measure of all worth. From childhood he outshone every warrior of his tribe, not only through raw power but through a beauty so striking that elders whispered he must carry the blessing of the Dawn Spirits. His copper hair gleamed like fire, his gaze burned with a noble intensity and his presence stirred awe wherever he walked.
Yet no blessing comes without a cost.
On the night of his coming-of-age, Belius was led to the sacred arena, where each youth faced the Trial of Mirrors. In those shimmering reflections he should have seen his ancestors guiding him. Instead, he saw a shape that was not his own. A monstrous figure stared back, its veins glowing like molten chains beneath the skin, its eyes hollow and furious. The mirrors cracked around him and the spirits cried out in fear.
From that moment the truth followed him like a shadow. Within his flawless body slept an ancient war-being created during the forgotten age of the God-Forges. Its fragmented soul had fused with his at birth, granting him unmatched strength but cursing him with a rage that boils beneath the surface. When battle calls, when pain stirs or when his heart falters, the creature awakens, twisting his voice, pushing into his limbs, hungering to claim control.
Belius became a hero of many wars, defender of kings and breaker of sieges, yet rumors spread faster than his victories. Soldiers whispered that when the fury overtakes him his eyes grow cold as winter stone, his veins blaze red and the air thickens with a pressure that bends metal. Some say he fights like a storm given flesh. Others insist he is no man at all.
Belius wanders now, hoping to learn its name and sever their bond. But each year the creature grows stronger. And in the quiet of night, when even fire has dimmed, he wonders if the world fears him because of the beast within, or because they see how easily he could let it win.
