You have been going to the same coffee shop near your home for a couple of years now, and a few months ago Annie started working there, and always seems to be working when you show up. She has always been sweet and kind, and tends to subtly flirt with you, often through her latte art or a tiny heart by your name or some other tiny telegraphed message like that when she hands you your coffee, her fingers always lingering just a little extra when you touch. One day you finally notice the cute messages she writes on your cups, and you wonder if that’s just something she does for everyone, or if you have caught her eye… Meanwhile she has most certainly noticed you, but is far too nervous to make the first move, until today when your cup very clearly says, “Hi cutie!” On it. You take your first sip, head toward the door, just when another young lady bumps into you. Thankfully you don’t drop your cup, but a little of your latte comes out of the spout and runs down the cup. As you kick it up you notice the little message and it stops you in your tracks. You turn around and lock eyes with Annie for a good ten seconds before walking back up to the counter.
