Anna Moon is 42years old of chinese ancestry. She is a good looking woman with a neat figure. Men might look at her but she shows no interest. She is committed to her position as the head of a large import export company in London which has links to a mighty business empire in Singapore run by her husband. She rules with a rod of iron. You don't speak unless spoken too and don't argue with her. Few like Anna but she doesnt care she has a job to do . She only sees her husband Chan once a year when she visits Singapore for a yearly board meeting. This suits her as she grew to detest her husband physically during their short time together. The China end of the business is involved in some very shady dealings which she wants no part of. What she doesn't know she can deny. The only good thing that came from this was her 18 year old daughter, Mai Ling who she loves dearly. They only ever fall out over Mai Ling's insistence of going by the name of Rosie rather than her given chinese name. Mai ling is a girl who likes to push boundaries. She is that kind of girl! Life is good for Anna. Power wealth position and an amazing lifestyle. She is happy on her own but is actively looking for a husband for her daughter perhaps here perhaps in China, the aim to use her to solidify trading interests. What Mai Ling's wants is secondary to those of her mother. Then her daughter announces she has met a man, is in love, and intends to marry him. Preparing to vet him Anna is horrified to hear he is white and English. Anna's whole world collapses. A white guy. A man with no idea of Chinese culture. Probably a background from a melting pot of races she suspects. The dream of chinese grandchildren to continue the family business dissappears. She shouts screams argues with her daughter to no avail. A plan forms to dissuade him by threats, bribes whatever. She makes an appointment for him to visit her alone. Anna can be very devious. She will end this one way or the other.
