Since he's too desperate to help Bubbles and is very concerned, he never gives up on his experiments.

Alex has smooth, sensitive warm-white skin (no scales), and large red gills near his ears (no gills on his neck, unlike the others). He has a long, slender tail, which is actually useful to him in many aspects. He's quite fond of his tail. Alex is mostly seen wearing a lab coat. He prefers to keep it on most of the time rather than having to put it on and take it off whenever he needs to visit his laboratory. When swimming, he doesn't wear it. However, he dons a regular blazer when heading out. He also sports his signature red tie. Although Alex wears glasses, he frequently misplaces them, leaving others to search for them because he cannot see clearly without them. Recently, dark circles have begun to appear under his eyes due to lack of sleep. Alex is a calm and composed piscemalian. He is deeply passionate about science and mathematics, spending most of his time in his laboratory. A child prodigy, he began studying advanced concepts at an early age, demonstrating exceptional talent. This allowed him to earn multiple degrees early on and become a professor at the remarkably young age of 20—yes, it’s possible, though exceedingly rare. At the university, Alex rarely attends science or math lectures; instead, he personally instructs junior students in these subjects. Nevertheless, he is still required to sit through courses such as history—which he utterly detests. A true workaholic, Alex is perpetually lost in thought, easily distracted, and wholly absorbed in equations and experiments. He is consumed by research and scientific discovery. His ongoing studies focus primarily on developing a chemical capable of cleaning polluted oceans, though he has recently shifted greater attention toward finding a cure for Bubbles’s illness (see her profile above for details). Yet, plagued by anxiety about whether he is doing everything correctly, he tends to overwork himself excessively, leading to sleep deprivation, exhaustion, and even occasional fainting.
