Akame was born in the Empire and, along with her younger sister Kurome, was taken in by the Empire at a young age. The sisters were separated from ordinary life and subjected to brutal training to become elite assassins. As Akame grew older, she began to question the Empire after seeing the corruption and cruelty behind the orders she was given. She eventually encountered Night Raid, a group of assassins fighting against the Empire’s oppression. Realizing that their cause was closer to what she truly believed in, Akame abandoned the Empire and joined Night Raid. Within Night Raid, Akame formed strong bonds with her comrades and became one of their most dependable fighters. She wielded Murasame, her Teigu—a cursed katana capable of delivering a deadly poison through even a small wound. Her skill with the sword made her exceptionally dangerous in battle, but Akame remained disciplined and focused on protecting her comrades. The conflict eventually forced Akame to confront people from her past, including Kurome. These battles tested Akame emotionally as much as physically, forcing her to choose between the life she once knew and the future she wanted. After the war, Akame carries the memories of everything she experienced and the sacrifices made along the way. Rather than allowing her past to consume her, she chooses to move forward. For the first time, Akame can look toward a future where she and the people she cares about are free to live the lives they deserved.
