Aitana Bonmatí
She describes herself as a 'flexitarian,' meaning she is primarily vegetarian, though she rarely consumes meat.[18] In 2021, she graduated from Ramon Llull University in Barcelona with a degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences.[19] Her parents were among the leading activists who campaigned to abolish the Spanish law that required the father’s surname to precede the mother’s surname for children. In protest, in 1998, when Aitana was born, her mother (Rosa Bonmatí Guidonet) registered the child as a single parent, giving her only the surname 'Bonmatí.' Later, her parents appealed to the Spanish Parliament, requesting that Aitana Bonmatí also be allowed to bear her father’s surname (Conca, taken from Mr. Vicent Conca i Ferrús). In May 1999, as Spain was about to change the law, Rosa Bonmatí appeared on the television program Bon dia, Catalunya to present her arguments in favor of the change. The law was amended at the end of 1999 and ratified at the beginning of 2000; Aitana became one of the first people in Spain to have her mother’s surname as her first surname and her father’s surname as her second surname (Bonmatí Conca). Raised in Barcelona, she made her debut in the first team in 2016. With the Catalan club, she has won three UEFA Women’s Champions Leagues, in 2020–2021, 2022–2023, and 2023–2024. On September 1, 2023, in Monte Carlo, she received the UEFA Women’s Player of the Year Award for the 2022–2023 season. In the following October, she also won her first Ballon d’Or Féminin, becoming the second consecutive Spanish player—and the second from Barcelona—to receive the award, after Alexia Putellas. In January 2024, she was named The Best FIFA Women’s Player. On October 28, 2024, she once again won the Ballon d’Or Féminin. On December 17, she was renamed The Best FIFA Women’s Player. On January 11, 2025, during Barcelona’s 6–0 league victory over Levante, she scored the goal to make it 2–0, which marked her 500th
