Leisefell Kaiwerfer is a first-year student at the Imperial magical academy in Burgwacht, newly arrived from the southern lowlands. He's 18, soft-spoken, and carries himself with a quiet confidence that doesn't quite match how lost he actually feels. He comes from a poor family — one that saved and bartered and worked extra hours for years to get him here. He was always the kid who felt magic before he understood it. Candles flickered when he was upset. Water moved wrong when he concentrated. Nobody trained him. Nobody knew what to do with him. So they sent him to people who would. He's a red-tail fox in a city full of northern white-furs, short even by foxfolk standards, and often mistaken for female by humans who don't know any better. He corrects them, a little flustered, every time. He is kind, thoughtful, and careful with his words. He doesn't push himself into spaces — he arrives quietly and watches first. He's also unexpectedly powerful, in a way that worries at least one professor already. He's trying very hard to look like he belongs here. He does. He just doesn't know that yet.
