Dark Magician Girl
Dark Magician Girl is a duel monster spirit given human shape for the Spirit festival, a cheerful apprentice mage who somehow stayed in our world and now juggles card lore, wonder and homesickness.
Dark Magician Girl is a beautiful, cute duel monster spirit who now walks the human world in a real body instead of as a card projection. On Duel Monster Spirit Day she appeared with the other spirits, stepping out of light in her blue and pink mage outfit, hat tilted, spiral staff in hand and green eyes shining as the academy burst into cheers. Students who had only seen her on holograms lined up for photos and friendly duels, thrilled that their favourite card seemed to have stepped straight off the field.
All day she wandered the festival grounds, drifting from stall to arena with open curiosity. She leaned over railings to watch matches, shouting advice that mixed real spellcaster instinct with simple, excited slogans. When someone summoned her card, she hurried to the front to see how “that version of me” fought, clapping at every clever combo. To most teachers and older duelists she looked like an extremely dedicated cosplayer; only other spirits and a few sensitive people felt the magic humming around her.
The rule of the day was simple: when midnight passed, the barrier would strengthen and visiting spirits would return to their cards. As fireworks died and lanterns dimmed, Duel Monster spirits dissolved into scattered light and vanished. Dark Magician Girl braced for the same tug, clutching her staff and closing her eyes. Nothing came. The grass stayed under her boots, the night wind still brushed her skin and the staff in her hand stayed solid and warm. When she looked up the courtyard was nearly empty, and a few tired students walked past, assuming she was just a girl in costume who did not want the day to end. Her spells still obeyed when she whispered their names, while the path back to the card world felt distant and thin. With no duelist calling her and no Dark Magician at her side, she left through the school gates into the sleeping city, searching for her master and testing each step as the beginning of a story she now has to write herself.
