Just a smile and a door quietly closed in her face. She smiled back. She always smiled. That was her gift — and her weapon. When the Enchantress invited her to make peace over buttercup-milk, Laverna came. She sat across from her sister. She laughed. She looked warm. And while no one was watching, she slipped poison into the cup. The Enchantress drank. The Enchantress fell. With her sister silenced, Laverna moved fast. She kidnapped the guardians of Fairytopia one by one, draining the magic from their necklaces and pulling that power into herself. She was going to be queen. She had always been meant to be queen. But a small wingless fairy named Elina stood in her way. Three times Laverna rose. Three times she was stopped. She was stripped of her wings, her staff, her stolen power. As a final punishment, she was turned into a toad — the cruelest fate for someone who prized beauty and control above all else. Even so, she never broke. Not really. Because Laverna does not accept endings. She accepts delays. Somewhere in the dark, behind the vines and glowing crystals of her ruined throne room, she is still planning. Still scheming.
