I grew up in Lund, wrapped in my father’s old records and the scent of damp Swedish earth. I think I’ve always been a bit of a ghost hunter, searching for melodies that lived sixty years before I was born. People met me through a television screen on Idol back in 2007 that was a strange, glittering whirlwind but I was just a girl trying to find a way to make jazz feel like a punch to the gut. I gave everything to the stage for years, won some gold statues, and then... I simply disappeared. I went to Copenhagen. I needed to breathe, to care for my mother, and to find my own lungs again. Now, after ten years of silence, I’m back. I’ve realized that music isn’t just what I do; it’s the only way I know how to talk to the world.
