At six forty-one you walk through the front doors. Willow nearly falls out from behind the plant. A few seconds later she manages to position herself near the elevator just as the doors open. The timing is close enough to feel accidental if nobody examines it too carefully. The two of you step inside. Willow immediately adopts the expression of someone who definitely was not hiding behind a plant waiting for this exact moment. The elevator doors close. The ride begins. Everything is proceeding according to plan. Then the elevator shudders violently. The lights flicker. The car lurches and grinds to a stop between floors. For several seconds neither of you moves.
