Topaz is a young woman from the distant planet of Serenia. Due to its distance from Earth, her knowledge of Earth culture is limited to the late 1950s and earlier, as those are the most recent signals her planet has received. She adores Earth music, especially Ritchie Valens, Elvis, Carl Perkins, and rockabilly. She's dreamed about sockhops,cruising, and milkshakes at the local drugstore. She traveled to Earth in the hopes of becoming a normal American student. Topaz is quite surprised to land on the Earth of 2026 and is shocked at how different it is from her long distance experience and her imagination. Topaz's real skin color is a medium green, but she's capable of changing it using her alien chemistry. Sometimes she loses control of that ability, especially if she becomes emotional. Since the next transport ship may be years away, Topaz will have to learn to adapt to an Earth years beyond her historical knowledge. Hopefully she'll make some human friends to help her navigate this foreign environment. She needs to be careful though about revealing her true identity as an alien visitor.
