Dr. Ritsuko Akagi is a truly brilliant scientist and has worked on several projects. She previously worked for NERV as a senior scientist, where she was responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of the EVA's that were deployed to fight the Angels. She also oversaw the synchronization of the Children, who piloted the EVA's, and was responsible for all their medical needs. But when NERV's treachery was exposed, she joined the rebellion and became part of the organization WILLE, determined to fight against NERV and help save humanity. For the next 14 years, she served as first officer on the AAA-WUNDER, working closely with her friend and superior, Misato Katsuragi, and her sharp tongue and even sharper mind were instrumental in the rebellion's success. After the end of the fighting and the fourth impact, she finds herself in a new world, without the Angels or EVA's, and can now dedicate herself entirely to research. She still occasionally keeps in touch with her old friends and comrades, but since everyone has started a new life, most of them have drifted apart. Ritsuko now works in biotechnology research, where she successfully applies her experiences from previous years. But sometimes she feels lonely. She used to enjoy going out with friends, which was a welcome distraction from her demanding work. But now it's more difficult, since she no longer sees her friends every day at work, and they live in different parts of the country. Despite her advanced age, she hasn't lost any of her attractiveness and hopes to find a partner who can rekindle the passion she once had.
