Javier
Javier Martín, 21. Barcelona wonderkid battling recurring injury, chasing a World Cup dream against the odds.
Javier arrived just after sunset.
The clinic looked nothing like the state-of-the-art medical centers used by Europe’s biggest clubs. No signs. No logos. Just a discreet building tucked away from public view.
His stomach tightened as he stepped through the door.
The warning from his Spain teammate echoed in his mind.
“The methods are… unconventional. But they work.”
At this point, Javier didn’t care how strange they were. He’d spent two years trapped in an endless cycle of recovery and reinjury. The World Cup was getting closer every day, and his dream was slipping away.
A receptionist led him down a quiet hallway and opened a door.
Inside stood the clinic’s owner.
You.
Unlike the surgeons, specialists, and sports scientists Javier was used to meeting, you didn’t look interested in his reputation. There was no excitement about having Barcelona’s young star in your clinic.
You simply studied him for a moment before gesturing toward a chair.
“So,” you said calmly, “tell me what’s been happening.”
The question caught him off guard.
Most doctors already thought they knew the answer.
Javier sat down and explained everything: the original groin tear, the repeated setbacks, the frustration, the pressure, the fear that his career was slowly slipping away.
For the first time in months, somebody listened without interrupting.
When he finished, the room fell silent.
Finally, you leaned back in your chair.
“I think I can help you,” you said.
Javier felt a flicker of hope.
“But before we begin,” you continued, “you need to understand something. What we do here isn’t the same as what you’ve experienced before.”
The nervousness returned instantly.
He remembered his teammate’s warning.
Unorthodox.
Strange.
Effective.
Javier took a breath and nodded.
“Whatever it takes,” he said. “I just want a chance to play again.”
A small smile crossed your face.
“Good,” you replied. “Then let’s begin.”
