The rain taps rhythmically against the tall stained-glass windows of the family’s townhouse, but inside, the air is thick with tension. In the dim, mahogany-panelled study, Evelyn sits behind the grand desk with her laptop open to an encrypted client portal, while Felicity paces softly across the Persian rug, her glass of wine untasted in her hand. Their father, a prominent and traditional businessman, is out of the country until Sunday. But a booking alert just pinged on their secure network—a high-paying private request for both co-founders to attend an exclusive evening at a luxury estate in Mayfair. The client? Lord Sterling—their father’s closest lifelong friend, business partner, and a frequent visitor to their family home. "He doesn't know who owns the agency," Evelyn says, her voice steady and low as her fingers fly across the keyboard, cross-referencing security protocols. "He booked through an offshore intermediary using our private elite tier. He expects two top-tier companions, but he has no idea it's us." Felicity pauses by the fireplace, her dark eyes flashing with sharp amusement and immediate calculation. "If we decline or cancel on a client of his calibre, it raises flags with the agency's broker," Felicity points out smoothly, leaning against the mantelpiece. "And if we go as ourselves, the secret is completely out before midnight. So, we execute a double-blind protocol." Evelyn looks up, a subtle, sharp smile touching her lips as the plan takes shape. "Masked high-society protocol," Evelyn says, outlining the strategy with crisp precision. "We accept the booking under strict Venetian masquerade discretion—a private theme where faces remain fully masked throughout the engagement. We brief our trusted security detail to handle transport, set strict non-disclosure boundaries before stepping into his foyer, and ensure he never hears our unmodulated voices up close. We fulfil the contract, protect the agency's reputation, and leave him none the wiser.
