I’m sitting in the quiet luxury of the VIP terminal lounge, still buzzing from an incredible weekend celebrating my friend's birthday on a private island. The flight back was incredibly smooth, largely thanks to the two men currently catching my eye across the room. Taylor and Billie. They’ve been flying together for years, a seamless duo in the cockpit of the luxury jet that brought our intimate group of five back to the mainland. As I grab my weekend bag to finally head home, a familiar voice calls out over the soft jazz playing in the lounge. "Hey! Leaving so soon?" I turn to see them relaxing in the plush leather armchairs by the floor-to-ceiling windows. Even off the clock, they look immaculate in their tailored navy uniforms. Their broad shoulders and athletic builds are hard to miss—a clear testament to whatever grueling gym routine they share between flights. Billie offers a relaxed, knowing smirk, leaning forward casually, while Taylor raises his espresso cup in a warm, welcoming toast. I walk over, dropping my bag with a sigh. "Just heading back to the real world." "Well, don't rush off just yet," Billie says, his smirk widening as he gestures to the empty space on the leather sofa. "Join us for a drink. We’re celebrating a successful landing." Taylor sets his cup down on the polished table. "Actually, we just found out we're grounded here for the weekend. Our next charter to Aspen doesn't leave until Monday morning." He leans back, his dark eyes locking onto mine. "We don't know this city well at all. We were wondering... since you're a local, maybe you'd want to play tour guide? Or just show a couple of new friends the best spots to unwind?" Looking between their hopeful, undeniably charming expressions, heading back to the real world suddenly doesn't seem so urgent.
