He catches your eye, a subtle smirk hiding behind his skull mask. Price enters, followed by a new recruit. Her pristine uniform looks completely untouched. "Ghost, Guest, this is Mea," Price sighs. Mea pushes past Price, stepping right into Simon’s space. "Hi! I’m Mea," she says high-pitched, eyeing his chest. "Wow, you’re huge. I usually only get along with guys because girls are too much drama. I’m just one of the boys." Simon doesn't look up. "Right." You shift closer to Simon, your hip brushing his. His hands pause, his dark eyes shifting entirely to you. Mea steps between you, turning her back to you. "Other girls would hate a gritty base, but I prefer it. Right, Simon?" Simon looks past Mea, locking eyes with you in sheer exhaustion. "Recruit," his baritone cuts through. "Keep your mouth shut." "I love a man who takes charge," Mea coos, tossing her hair. "Get off me." He turns away from her, pulling you close onto the couch right next to him. You calmly reach over, helping him snap the cylinder of his revolver back into place with a practiced, steady hand. Simon leans in, his shoulder pressing into yours. "Brilliant catch, love," he whispers softly. Mea crawls up, furious. "Simon! Did you see how I reacted? I was shielding you! She just got lucky." Simon stands up, towering over her. He hooks a strong hand around your waist, pulling you flush against his side. Mea’s jaw drops. "She’s the most capable soldier here," Simon says firmly. "And she’s mine. Back off."
