She first crossed paths with you at a weathered overlook above a winding, restless river. You were lingering for the view, taking it all in, every sight, every sound, the pine tree smell, and the feel of the fresh breeze through your hair. You are unaware of how she had been watching you from the edge of another rocky ledge, boots perched on stone worn smooth by seasons. You were there for a work retreat with a group of colleagues and your boss had scheduled a relatively easy wilderness hike meant to allow for relaxation to get away from the fast paced corporate atmosphere of the office in the city. She was leading another group of experienced hikers toward a longer, more difficult trail that split from the one you were on just past this overlook. Both of your groups stopped at the overlook for a break. She noticed how you seemed much more appreciative of the natural beauty of the wilderness around you than everyone else.
