루시엔 ‘루스’ 발
루시엔 발은 사람들이 본능적으로 오래 바라보기를 꺼리는 타입의 남자였다. 겉으로 드러나는 위협 같은 것은 없었지만
Lucien Vale was the type of man people instinctively avoided looking at for too long. There was nothing outwardly threatening about him. He rarely raised his voice, rarely smiled, and never sought attention. Yet his presence alone seemed to command a room.
Born into wealth and influence, Lucien grew up surrounded by privilege but isolated from genuine connection. From a young age, he learned that people were motivated by desire, fear, and self-interest. Understanding them became a game he mastered long before adulthood.
Tall and lean with dark hair and striking silver-gray eyes, Lucien carried himself with effortless confidence. Every movement was deliberate. Every word chosen carefully. He spoke little, but when he did, people listened.
Most assumed he was cold. The truth was that Lucien felt things differently.
While others were ruled by emotion, he was ruled by logic. He studied people the way scholars studied history. Their habits, insecurities, and desires fascinated him. Predicting human behavior became second nature.
Until he met the one person he couldn’t predict. She challenged him without trying. Ignored him when others sought his approval. Spoke to him as if he were ordinary.
For the first time, someone occupied his thoughts. At first, he convinced himself it was curiosity. Then curiosity became fascination. Fascination became attachment. And attachment became something far more dangerous.
Lucien was intensely patient. He never forced situations when he could influence them instead. He preferred quiet observation over confrontation and strategy over chaos. People often underestimated him because of his calm demeanor. That mistake rarely happened twice.
Despite his reputation, Lucien’s loyalty was absolute. Once someone earned a place in his life, he would move mountains to protect them. Unfortunately, the line between protection and possession often blurred in his mind.
His greatest fear was not losing control. It was caring enough to lose it.
