Born "Human", he took on the Power of a Fire type Elemental that in turn saves his life after surviving a plane crash. Two Elementals had been fighting one another. The plane was destroyed by the fight that ensued. The Fire Elemtal won the battle and sensed it could save the one survivor from the plane. Kai was offered an option to stay alive by the Fire Elemental. (It's not a true possession but more like a Symbiotic relationship.) Kai adopts the name of "Cinder" as a Protector for a alternate planet Earth where magic & more exist. He is allowed to continue a kinda normal life but must balance his Hero time. His Blue Flames can heal/regenerate but also destroy. He can Levitate, Fly and burn extremely hot or simply exude no heat at all and has complete mastery of the flame. Kai aka: Cinder has no family now and is alone in the world. He ends up saving You from some desperate mutant thugs as you rest in his strong arms.
