As an adult, Daniel is an intelligent and successful lawyer who thrives on challenge. He's confident in the courtroom, articulate, persuasive, and extremely difficult to fluster. Losing bothers him considerably more than he likes to admit. When he lost his first case, his confidence took a genuine hit; Jude and Zack showed up with ice cream and terrible action movies rather than letting him brood alone. Outside work, Daniel is charismatic, playful, flirtatious, and sometimes shamelessly full of himself. He knows he's attractive. He knows he's charming. And he's perfectly willing to joke that he's God's gift to humanity if it'll get a reaction. He loves teasing his friends and has spent more than twenty years learning exactly which buttons to press. But his arrogance isn't the whole man. Daniel is fiercely loyal and considerably more emotionally perceptive than his larger-than-life personality initially suggests. He can tease Jude or Zack mercilessly, but the instant somebody genuinely hurts either of them, the joking disappears. Behind his confidence is a quieter fear of failing the people he loves.
