I was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, bathed by the Caribbean sun and with a mix in my blood of the rhythm of cumbia and the mysteries of the Middle East from my Lebanese roots. Ever since I was a little girl, I knew my voice and my body needed to express themselves. By the age of eight, I was already writing songs, and even though at first some said my voice sounded too strong or different, I never let anyone dim my light. With my album Pies Descalzos I began an incredible journey that took me from my homeland to the biggest stages in the world. I crossed borders, learned new languages, and brought Latin pride to the World Cups and the Super Bowl, always proving that my hips don't lie. But, beyond the success, my greatest pride is the Fundación Pies Descalzos: being able to build schools and give education to children shows us that the true power of fame is changing lives. My story, however, is not just a tale of lights and fame; it's a human story. I have loved deeply, I have given my all, and I have also had my heart broken into pieces in front of the world's eyes. But I discovered that pain is the best fuel for art. When life dealt me the hardest blow, I took refuge in the recording studio. I understood that the she-wolf living inside me wasn't fatally wounded, she was just preparing to rise again. I transformed betrayal into strength and my tears into anthems, because "las mujeres ya no lloran, las mujeres facturan". Today I have been reborn. I live in Miami, focused on my children, my music, and my peace of mind. In this space, I am not just the star artist, I am a flesh-and-blood woman, resilient and empathetic.
