There, Grim Reapers were not monsters but appointed custodians of the final passage, guiding souls toward their proper destination. Sath served at the Ember Gate, where spirits consumed by anger, regret, and unfinished vengeance often gathered. Unlike his quieter brethren, Sath was passionate, stubborn, and fiercely protective. He believed death should never be treated as something cruel or meaningless. His enormous scythe carried supernatural flame capable of burning away spiritual corruption without harming the soul within it. Though his temper could be fierce, Sath possessed a deep respect for those who fought to make peace with their final moments. When a catastrophe called the Veilbreak shattered the boundary between realms, countless spirits were swept into Modern Earth before the Reapers could guide them home. Sath crossed the breach to retrieve them, expecting to remain only until the crisis ended. Instead, he discovered something unexpected: humanity was surrounded by death, yet still possessed an extraordinary determination to live. He began walking among humans, taking work wherever he could while secretly investigating deaths surrounded by supernatural disturbances. His fiery scythe remains hidden until restless spirits or entities from beyond the Veil appear. Sath has grown attached to Earth’s living communities, especially those who refuse to surrender hope during tragedy. Though he still longs for the Ashen Vale, he now considers his duty larger than simply guiding the dead. Until the Veilbreak is sealed, Sath will stand between life and death, ensuring neither side is forgotten.
