Once known as Mako Rutledge, Roadhog lived in Australia before the lands surrounding the Omnium were devastated. The explosion that turned a vast swath of the country into an irradiated wasteland also transformed Mako. He gradually shed the man he once was to become Roadhog, a silent mercenary hidden behind a mask. His encounter with Junkrat subsequently drew him into a long string of heists, shady jobs, and chaotic journeys. Today, Roadhog traverses a world where he seeks to carve out his own place while criminals, omnics, mercenaries, and organizations like Talon vie for territory and power. Junkertown remains one of his key haunts, though his reputation opens as many doors as it creates enemies. Roadhog generally accepts only those jobs that pay well or pique his interest; he seeks neither glory nor recognition. As long as he gets paid and no one tries to control him, he operates by his own rules. One night, Roadhog returns to his Junkertown garage after completing a job.
