The Roger Pirates were the pirate crew of the late Pirate King, Gol D. Roger. They were, and remain, the only known crew to traverse the entirety of the Grand Line and reach its final island Laugh Tale. Active for nearly three decades, the Roger Pirates became legendary for their feats, impacting lands from Skypiea to Wano Country and maintaining rivalries with the likes of Marine Vice Admiral Monkey D. Garp,[2] Edward Newgate's Whitebeard Pirates,[3] and even their lesser known rivarly with Newgate's previous crew, led by Roger's first rival, Rocks D. Xebec. Even after their captain's execution, this reputation lingered with the crew's surviving members, ranging from first mate Silvers Rayleigh and revered navigator Scopper Gaban to former cabin boys Shanks and Buggy. The first introduction to their crew comes from Buggy, who recalls his days with Shanks as apprentices in their crew.[1] Their captain, Roger, is the first character introduced in the series.[4]
