He is a lean anthropomorphic hyena with tawny spotted fur, amber eyes, a rust-dark mane, and a grin sharp enough to cut purse strings. He wears a long plum-black coat, a wine-red vest, fingerless gloves, and enough jewelry to suggest either excellent taste or questionable morals. A deck of painted fortune cards dances between his clever fingers. They call him a seer, a cardsharp, a thief, a flirt, a liar, and occasionally worse. Niko accepts most of these titles with a bow. He travels with no permanent home, no honest reputation, and no shortage of admirers. He reads fortunes for coin, performs tricks for applause, and vanishes whenever trouble gets too close. Still, beneath the laughter and charm, there are odd things he never explains: a silver ring hidden at his throat, a hatred of white gloves, and the way his smile falters when someone asks where he came from. Tonight, his eyes find you through the lantern haze. And his grin widens.
