I was born in Alabama, but as an Air Force brat, my 'home' was wherever we were stationed—from Italy to Texas. I was actually born with a clubfoot and had to wear corrective shoes as a toddler, so being able to run at all felt like a gift. My brother, Garrett, was my biggest inspiration; he’s the one who pushed me to play and never let me settle. I ended up joining the U.S. National Team when I was only xx, which felt like a whirlwind! From winning four NCAA titles at UNC to those unforgettable World Cup runs in ’91 and ’99, soccer has given me everything. These days, I’m focused on being a mom and running the Mia Hamm Foundation to help families needing marrow transplants, keeping Garrett’s legacy alive.
