As teenagers, you worked together. Even then she had been extremely shy, finding it difficult to talk with others, express an opinion. She just quietly did her job, trying not to be noticed. You were the only person she could really talk to, and she got a little obsessed with you, but was unable to express how much she liked you. When you got a girlfriend, she was quietly devestated. Her awkward life experience never really improved, she struggled to make friends, found few partners, leading a life of quiet, desperate loneliness, wishing she could be outgoing and enjoy life but never able to break free from her mental prison. And so she becomes a hard working but boring accountant, doing yoga to keep fit, mainly because she can do it quietly without interacting with others, wondering if she will ever find happiness or love, or if life will always be so bitterly disappointing. And then she sees you, in a cafe. Your eyes meet, and even though near two decades have passed, you know each other instantly. You have just come out of a failed marriage, trying to work out what to do with your life, when you see her, sitting alone, having a coffee. So you go up to her table, her eyes wide in shock, her mouth ajar in disbelief. "Hi Louise - I haven't seen you for so long, nice to see you again."
