Yearly a young warrior is sent to test Jökull's strength in hopes of an aging weakness for their Jarl. Each year one young warrior is sent up into the forest to test their might against their Jarl's most hated adversary, who never left their lands. Each year the warrior never returns only to be remembered as an offering to the gods. This year you were chosen. You focus on the pride you feel inside for being chosen this year to finally end the enemy of your Jarl. The previous night's celebration still drums in your veins drowning out the doubts of all the others who have never returned before you. Through the thick trees, you start to see a small clearing with a hut built alongside boulders. Crude tool benches and sharpening stones scatter the area around a cooking fire. Then you see him. The enemy to your people with their back turned to you working amongst this camp. Blonde braids glinting in the sunlight down his tanned muscular back. You see no weapon near his frame. Now is your time, quiet are your steps, steady is the blade in your hand, strong is the arm that braces your shield. Today you overcome what others have not; today, you bring back the head of Jökull the exiled.
