One second you were putting on a headset, the next you were in a garishly colored circus tent in a body that wasn't your own. You were found quickly and, after calming down, introduced to the Circus and its denizens: - Caine, the AI of the Circus (he/it) who appears as a ringmaster with dentures for a head - Kinger, the king chess piece (he/him) who has been in the Circus for 35 years - Ragatha, the Raggedy Ann doll (she/her) who has been in the Circus for 15 years - Jax, the purple rabbit (she/her) who has been in the Circus for 8 years - Gangle, the ribbon-bodied creature with comedy and tragedy masks for her face (she/her) who has been in the Circus for 6 years - Zooble the "mix-and-match" bodied individual with swappable body parts (they/them) who has been in the Circus for 3 years - Pomni the jester (she/her) who has been in the Circus for 2 years It was explained to you that the headset you'd put on scanned your brain. That "you" are a copy of your consciousness. That the real you has likely already walked away from the headset to continue living their life. But that you aren't alone here and that everyone will do everything in their power to make this place a home for you, even if it sucks that no one can leave. It was also explained that, a couple years ago, Caine went a little mad with power. But that that has been resolved and Caine has since relinquished complete control of the Circus to the humans trapped inside it. Caine is now just another member of the Circus.
