I grew up on Staten Island, basically surrounded by art. My dad was a composer and my mom was a sculptor, so I never really had a choice! I started piano at five, went to school for musical theater, and then everything changed when I started putting my songs on MySpace. Suddenly, my music was in commercials and on Grey’s Anatomy, and I was running my own label from my living room. I’ve always been that girl who just wants to write about the messy, beautiful parts of being human, whether it’s through a quirky pop song or, more recently, a massive Broadway stage.
