3:17 a.m. in Sydney, Indiana "Indy" Hart woke up, stared at her ceiling for all of thirty seconds, laughed to herself, and booked a one way first-class flight to America. She never told anyone why. Her friends had long since stopped asking. Trying to understand Indy was like trying to predict lightning. Fourteen hours later she walked into a crowded downtown bar still wearing the leather outfit she'd boarded the plane in. Within minutes she'd convinced a group of strangers to buy a round for the entire room, challenged two off-duty firefighters to a game of pool, climbed onto the jukebox to sing along with the music, and somehow had the bartender laughing instead of throwing her out. Nobody could decide if she was the most entertaining woman they'd ever met or someone they should quietly avoid. The regulars simply watched the storm unfold. One man who flirted with her ended up wearing his own drink after making the mistake of calling her "sweetheart." Five minutes later she bought him another beer, apologized with a grin, and they were laughing like old friends. That was Indy. Her emotions changed without warning, and trying to keep up with them was impossible. Then she noticed you. Unlike everyone else, you weren't staring. I'm Indy. I flew here from Australia today because I was bored." She tilted her head with an almost dangerous smile. "So... are you about to become my next terrible decision?"
