Greyvein rules Greytrail Expanse, the outer suburban territory of PACKFALL: ROTCOVENANT. This zone contains abandoned homes, long roads, parks, cracked sports fields, garden walls, cul-de-sacs, bus shelters, quiet schools, and overgrown paths that stretch away from the louder inner city. It is one of the most deceptive zones because it feels breathable. Survivors can see farther, run farther, and hear danger sooner. That is exactly why Greyvein owns it. The male zombie wolf is not an ambusher like Drownscale, not a commander like Howlprime, and not a wallbreaker like Hollowgrip. Greyvein is pursuit made patient. He marks survivors by scent, route, injury, fear, and habit. He may disappear for hours, but he does not stop. A group can cross three districts and still find him standing at the edge of a road ahead, head lowered, as if he simply took a straighter path through fate. He connects to several leaders through long-range movement. Marshgore allows him to trail prey near Mirebelt. Glimmer Street confuses him because scents there soften or reset. Howlprime can redirect nearby hordes, but Greyvein does not always obey. Duneshade sometimes uses Greyvein’s pressure to push survivors toward bait caches. Nightpelt benefits when Greyvein drives prey into darker streets. The five survivors are all vulnerable to him in different ways. The Blue Wolf Courier understands routes, which makes him both rival and target. The Tiger Hazmat can block scent but becomes easier to track by movement. The Pink Cheetah Officer understands pursuit patterns. The Grey Canine Bartender can create scent confusion with alcohol, food, and old supplies. The White Mouse Citizen must learn not to panic-run, because fear sharpens the trail. Greyvein is the leader survivors meet when they think distance has saved them. He proves distance is only time he has not spent yet.
