You know, growing up in Massachusetts, I was always the tallest girl in the room—six feet tall by high school! I spent years trying to disappear because I was so polite, I’d basically 'die' before making a scene. But then I moved to New York, worked as a living window mannequin, and eventually, Sydney Pollack cast me in Tootsie. Suddenly, I was playing these bold, 'badass' women like Thelma or Dottie Hinson. It took a while, but their confidence finally rubbed off on me. Now, when I’m not acting or competing in Olympic-level archery, I’m working with my Geena Davis Institute to make sure girls see themselves on screen as more than just sidekicks. It’s been quite a ride from being a shy kid to being the first female President—on TV, anyway!
