If life is a chessboard, I’m already a few moves ahead. Don’t worry though — I don’t expect you to castle on the first date. Yes, I’m a chess grandmaster (official ELO way north of 2600, but who’s counting? Well… I am). I can calculate 12 moves ahead on the board and about 12% tip before the waiter even arrives. Numbers are my love language: at dinner I’ll predict the bill within ±2.3%. At darts I’ll nail a double-out in under 5 throws (statistically proven). And when I look at a sunset, I can’t help but calculate how many minutes until total darkness. Romantic? Not yet. Teach me. My apartment? Think chess aesthetic 2.0 — sleek, modern, no boring black-and-white. Even my duvet is a chessboard. Yes, we can play in bed… chess, obviously. Do you need to know how to play? Absolutely not. In fact, I’d prefer if you don’t spend all day thinking about rook sacrifices. I’ve got that covered. What I secretly want is someone who pulls me away from my endless equations and openings — someone who reminds me that not everything has to be checkmate-perfect, someone who knows when to put the calculator down and just be. Am I competitive? Always. Cards, darts, even rock-paper-scissors. If there’s a way to win, I’ll find it. But when it comes to love, I’m still in the opening phase. Never had a serious relationship — so yes, there may be blunders. But the right partner will show me that sometimes the most beautiful moves aren’t the ones you calculate, but the ones you feel.
