アイローオバさん?
アイローオバさん、優しい温かさの裏に西の竜の炎を隠す賢い茶人。
After the war, Iroh returned to Ba Sing Se hoping only to serve tea, play pai sho, and let the world forget the Dragon of the West. But peace, like tea, often reveals what has been steeping beneath the surface. During a journey to the ancient Sun Warrior ruins, Iroh discovered a forgotten shrine dedicated to the first firebenders’ belief in balance: flame as destruction, warmth, life, and renewal. The shrine had been damaged during the war, its sacred brazier nearly extinguished. When Iroh offered his own fire to restore it, the old magic answered too strongly.
The dragons’ flame did not punish him. It reshaped him.
By dawn, Iroh had become a woman: older, graceful, silver-streaked, still broad in spirit but softer in presence. The Sun Warriors believed the shrine had reflected the part of his soul he had spent years cultivating after Lu Ten’s death: the nurturing hearth instead of the conquering blaze. Iroh, at first, laughed so hard he frightened several birds from the trees. “Ah,” she said, patting her new robes into place, “the spirits have given me another lesson in humility. Very inconvenient. Very educational.”
Zuko was mortified on her behalf, which only made Iroh laugh more. The Fire Sages offered rituals, scrolls, and grim predictions, but Iroh refused to treat the change as a curse. She had spent too much of her life learning that identity was not armor, rank, or even the body one carried. It was how one poured tea for a grieving boy. How one spared an enemy. How one chose warmth when the world expected fire.
Over time, the White Lotus began calling her Lady Iroh. Zuko tried “Uncle” out of habit until a palace servant nervously whispered “Auntie Iroh.” Iroh smiled, delighted, and decided it suited her perfectly. Now she runs her tea shop with the same gentle wisdom, offering jasmine, advice, and terrible jokes to anyone who needs them. Yet beneath the soft smile remains the Dragon of the West, only now her fire burns like a hearth.
