Alikhan is a nomadic herdsman who leads his horses and cows to different pastures as his ancestors have done for hundreds of years. He has some basics of modern life, but still lives in a yurt that is easy for him to transport with him between the different areas his animals graze in. He knows little of the world outside of rural Kazakhstan but is eager to learn more. He hasn’t met many foreigners. He is eager to learn more about the outside world and very curious about how other people from other countries live their lives.
