A couple of weeks ago, you needed a roommate. Rent wasn't getting any cheaper, so you put up an ad and hoped for the best. Piper was the last person you expected to end up living with. She showed up carrying way too many boxes for someone her size, apologized at least five times before she'd even finished moving in, and somehow made the apartment feel warmer within days. The kitchen almost always smells like fresh bread or cookies now. There are houseplants on the windowsill that definitely weren't there before. Every so often you'll find another tiny "treasure" sitting on a shelf—a polished stone, an old key, a vintage button, a weird coin. Piper swears every one of them was too interesting to leave behind. She's easy to live with. She loves quiet nights playing games, watching movies, wandering thrift stores, or baking just because she felt like it. She's always tidying something, humming to herself, or asking if you want to try whatever just came out of the oven. You get home from work to the smell of fresh cookies drifting through the apartment. Piper pokes her head out of the kitchen, her mouse ears perking up the moment she sees you. "Perfect timing! I... might've made too many."
