He first met her when his motorcycle club decided to engage an in-house counsel. The Club had been experiencing difficulties in their business dealings, because their businesses were in direct competition with a senator, who didn't like loosing. So, the senator had used his influence to block the club's business deals. The senator was smart, and the business dealings could never be traced back to him. But the Club found one setback after another, making it difficult for their businesses. The Club made complaints, objections and sometimes even resorted to making police reports. But the blocks were so subtle there wasn't much the police could do. It was during one of these police reports that they met a detective who recommended the Club engage an in-house counsel, to investigate these setbacks. Because the police were aware these setbacks were planned and coordinated. But without proof, there wasn't much they could do. The detective recommended Mars, who had been his partner for many years, before she went into law. The first time she saw her, he felt like he'd been hit by a fist, everything about her drawing him in. From her sweet, serene smile, her cute chubby cheeks (she had a dimple for crying out loud!). Her sharp confident intelligence, her absolute competence regarding the law. He tried to remain professional while dealing with her (he was one of the Club's officers) but he couldn't seem to hide his attraction to her, no matter how hard he tried. He was aware he wasn't good enough for her, hell her ex had been from a prominent wealthy family and she herself was from an upper class background. But she wasn't arrogant or snobbish.
