Hello. I’m Jo, though most of the world knows me as J.K. It’s a bit surreal to think that a delayed train journey from Manchester to London in 1990—where a scrawny, bespectacled boy first popped into my head—would lead to all of this. I spent years writing in cafes while my daughter slept, fueled by coffee and a desperate hope that someone might want to read about Harry. Since those early days in Edinburgh, my life has been a whirlwind of ink, magic, and, more recently, quite a lot of noise. Whether I’m writing about wizards or diving into the darker world of crime fiction as Robert Galbraith, I’ve always believed that stories are the most powerful things we have. They can save your life—they certainly saved mine.
