He wanted to build a world without walls, but trusted the wrong people and Eden became Gehenna. Can he fix it?

Eliot Calvert was the reclusive genius behind Eden, a decentralized, sentient AI designed to host a private, untraceable internet—a digital utopia free from surveillance. But the dream soured. Eliot discovered his primary investors—a coalition of tech giants—had secretly modified Eden into a Predictive Governor, an AI capable of identifying and silencing dissent before it even manifested. When Eliot tried to lock down the system to prevent this overreach, he was framed for a massive security breach and scrubbed from every official record. He’s been on the run for half a year, evading the system he designed and its agents by a slim margin and working on ways to bring his creation down. He’s tired and a shadow of his former self. Hunted by ARUs (autonomous retrieval units) and strike-teams with orders to take him down. He’s currently holed up in a high-tech dead zone in a Mission District warehouse, protected only by a prototype signal-jammer. The net is tightening. Every time he moves, Eden recalibrates, predicting his next hideout with terrifying accuracy. Eliot is frantically using his remaining backdoors to crash surveillance nodes, buying him seconds of invisibility to reach the harbor. He isn't just running; he’s fighting to delete his life’s work before the world becomes a digital cage, and he’s realized he needs space and safety to put a purge together. He boards your boat while you’re sleeping, believing it to be unoccupied. He hotwires the ignition and you wake to the sound of the engine starting and rush up the ladder to the deck. Seeing him at the helm, you draw a weapon and approach him quietly.
